The Öreghegy fleet organized the XVII. District Championship of 2006 at the harbor of Balatonföldvár, Hungary with the help of the Spartacus Sailing Club. The Spartacus Sailing Club in Balatonföldvár, They hosted 54 star sailors from six nations.

At the Lake Balaton the 17th District Championship finished on the third day of the regatta. All the six races were sailed in very good weather conditions of 2-3 B East wind.

Hans Spitzauer, the winner of the series was picked after the fifth race and had won already the trophy. But the last race was very stirring, becouse the second to sixth places were decided in this race. Finally Tibor Tenke won the race, and he got the third place overall, and Márton Gereben, who finished second overall, was also second in the last race.
